The Groupe Consultatif has recently published a small brochure entitled “Why Use an Actuary?” which was distributed to all participants at the European Congress of Actuaries on 7 and 8 June, as well as to contacts in the Commission and EIOPA.

The brochure briefly describes actuaries‘ activities, and explains why using an actuary is beneficial and the most appropriate professional to use in certain circumstances. Member associations are encouraged to adapt and translate the attached brochure to meet local requirements, and distribute it to national industry and supervisory bodies.
